College with Confidence: A Program for Adults
College with Confidence: A Program for Adults began its pilot session in September 2010. The program incorporates many of the great aspects of its predecessor, CHIPS, but offers participation to a greater number of students.
This group serves as a support system for students returning to College, guiding them through the elements needed to achieve success in college. College with Confidence also provides funding for one college class while participating in this program. An essential aspect to this program is the required weekly meetings which provides a social network, academic feedback and other types of valuable information. During these meetings, discussions will cover a wide range of topics such as:
- Time Management
- Library/Literacy/Research Skills
- Psychotherapy
- Using Blackboard
- Test taking tips
If you are an adult in transition, looking to return to school, you might be eligible for this very informative and supportive program. To receive more information please complete the request form.
Divorce Support Group
A divorce support group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings included guided group discussions and presentations by lawyers, therapists, mediators and financial planners. There is no fee to attend and participants need not pre-register. A schedule of speakers is available quarterly.
The first Monday of each month from October through May, a Certified Divorce Planner provides consultations. On the second and third Monday of each month, a lawyer is available for consultations. These consultations are scheduled from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on a first-come, first-served basis and are provided free of charge.
