The Schoolcraft College Continuing Education and Professional Development department in conjunction with EMC2, the world’s leading developer and provider of infrastructure technology and solutions, have partenered to offer a one-week, intensive training program that will prepare IT Professionals to take the EMC Proven™ Professional Associate (EMPCA) ISM level certification exam. The course will be held March 8 -12, 2011.

In 2008, 486 exabytes of digital information were created and replicated worldwide. Predications for 2012 are in excess of 2,502 exabytes. This sharp increase in data creation and the heightened importance of storing, protecting, and managing data, has elevated information storage as a central function of IT infrastructure. So how will business and industry manage information growth with a limited pool of skilled professionals?  Our new course in Information Storage and Management training will address this challenge and represent the next wave of in-demand IT expertise.
  
Digital information is being created at an ever-increasing rate, spurring demand for data storage and professionals proficient in managing storage environments.  According to EMSI, the average hourly earnings in Michigan are $39.49 and the expected growth rate between 2009–2016 is 15.57%.

The intensive one-week Information Storage and Management (ISM) course will give students a strong understanding of storage technologies which enables them to make informed decisions in an increasingly complex IT environment. The Information Storage and Management training course is eligible for Michigan Works! funding if students qualify through the No Worker Left Behind program.
