LIVONIA – Schoolcraft College is hosting “Images of Peace Through Mindfulness,” a collection of photography and artwork by Dr. Steven L. Berg. The collection explores the concept that the more mindful we are in our actions, the more peace we will bring to the world. Items on display include quilting, photos, mixed media pieces and collages. References to a variety of cultural and religious traditions are also inherent in the exhibit.
The “Images of Peace Through Mindfulness,” exhibit will be open through October 30 and can be viewed Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., in the Lower Waterman Wing of the VisTaTech Center on the Livonia Campus of the college. The exhibit is presented by the Student Activities Office and Pageturners, the college’s book discussion club for students, faculty, staff and the community.
Dr. Berg is a member of the faculty of Schoolcraft College, where he has a joint appointment in English and history. He also has an extensive background in religious studies, including publication on Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism. Dr. Berg also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Great Lakes Buddhist Vihara and numerous faculty-student committees at the college.
