CAREER PROGRAMS OPEN HOUSE
LIVONIA, MI— Schoolcraft College Continuing Education and Professional Department will once again host a Career Programs Open House on Monday, April 20th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the VisTaTech Center on the main campus in Livonia. The event is open to the general public and will introduce interested individuals to the varied educational career programs offered at the college.
Schoolcraft College offers education and training in various career fields. The focus of this Career Program Open House is to inform those who are looking for a new profession in becoming a Pharmacy Technician, a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer or a Domestic Relations Mediation Specialist. Attendees will be able to meet with staff members and instructors to review course offerings and certification requirements, as well as register on-site.
According to the EMSI (Economic Modeling Specialists), it is estimated that there will be a 9.69% increase in pharmacy technicians expected by the year 2013 and the need for Personal Fitness Trainers, also called the fourth “hottest” job in the US by ABCNews.com, is expected to increase over the next five years. A new entry into the job market-place is the growing position of a Domestic Relations Mediation Specialist as mediation is quickly becoming a popular alternative to other legal methods and the demand for those skilled in this area is expected to increase.
“This event is particularly beneficial to displaced workers,” said Sherry Zylka, Associate Dean of Continuting Education and Workforce Development. “The open house provides a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the instructors and staff who will be available to answer questions about registration and more.”
For more information on the event or career transition opportunities, contact the Continuing Education and Professional Development Department at 734-462-4448 or go to www.schoolcraft.edu/ces.
