Free Tax preparation assistance available March 21


On Saturday, March 21 students and faculty from the college’s accounting and Honors programs, along with staff from the Transitions Center and volunteers from the Accounting Aid Society will be providing free 2008 income tax preparation assistance from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Room 920 of the Applied Science Building on the college's main campus in Livonia. This is the seventh annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) day at Schoolcraft College. 

Schoolcraft students, employees, friends who are filing single with an annual income of less than $20,000 or filing family with an income of less than $42,000 are urged to utilize this free service. Both Federal and Michigan taxes can be completed and e-filed free of charge.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling 734-462-4443. After you make your appointment, you will receive a checklist of items to bring.
