Governor announces No Worker Left Behind initiative

Published: 8/2/2007

On August 1 Governor Jennifer Granholm announced the No Worker Left Behind initiative, which is intended to accelerate the transition of thousands of Michigan workers into good-paying jobs by providing up to two years worth of free tuition at a community college, university or other approved training provider.

The program is being administered by the state through its Michigan Works! Service Centers. The first step for any individual hoping to benefit from No Worker Left Behind is to visit a Service Center to begin the eligibility and skills assessment process. To locate the nearest Michigan Works! office, call 1-800-285-WORK, or visit http://www.michigan.gov/nwlb.

Individuals who have already contacted Michigan Works! and have specific questions about Schoolcraft College programs, services or processes should call 734-462-4400 x5443 to set up an appointment to meet with a College staff member.
