New basic rider classes have been added at Schoolcraft College and its partner campuses in the Detroit-Metro Regional Consortium Motorcycle Safety Program. The basic rider course is the foundation course for the inexperienced rider, offering 16 hours of instruction during one or two weekends or on weekdays or nights. Bikes are provided, and the fee is $25.

At Schoolcraft, additional classes begin on July 20 at the Livonia campus and July 27 at Garden City’s Radcliff Center.

At other locations, Henry Ford Community College has new classes beginning July 23 and July 27. Macomb Community College offers new classes July 27, August 20 and September 10 at its south campus. New classes begin July 27 at Monroe County Community College and August 24 at St. Clair County Community College.

A complete schedule of motorcycle safety classes is posted at www.schoolcraft.edu/ces/motorcycle.asp. For more information call the motorcycle information hotline at 734-462-4452.
