New City of Livonia bus service stops at Schoolcraft

Published: 11/27/2006

The new Livonia Community Transit (LCT) bus service includes Schoolcraft College as a prescheduled stop. Students and staff who had relied on the Suburban Mobility for Regional Transportation (SMART) bus system can now use the LCT system.

The City of Livonia opted out of SMART, replacing it with its own system.

The Schoolcraft location is the same as it was under SMART, outside the VisTaTech Center in the North Parking Lot. LCT connects with SMART at the Botsford Inn on Grand River Avenue north of Eight Mile Road, and with the Detroit Department of Transportation bus service at Millenium Park at I-96 and MiddleBelt Road.

When LCT was launched November 27, 2006, pick-ups and drop-offs were planned at prescheduled locations every hour from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., for a flat fare of $2 each way. Round-trip service will be scheduled as needed by reservation only. Call (734) 466-2700 or (866) 466-2022 for reservations.

For more information or a list of current pre-scheduled destinations, contact the City of Livonia at (866) 466-2022 or LCT@ci.livonia.mi.us.
