Support for International Students

Published: 7/19/2007

Let your fingers do their tap dancing/flamenco/ceilidh through OCLC’s WorldCat, the international library cooperative database that contains more than 85 million bibliographic records. It is supported by more than 57,000 participating libraries worldwide, and a member record is added every 10 seconds.

Many of these records contain links to online abstracts, sources, and full-text works.

Each second a library user searches WorldCat using FirstSearch, and an interlibrary loan request is filled through WorldCat every 4 seconds. That means there are a lot of books being borrowed and read every day by a lot of people all around the world!

In order for this international network to work, these records are available in over 470 languages. Click on this link to see the list: http://www.oclc.org/worldcat/statistics/charts/languagecloud.htm

You can access WorldCat from our Library home page. Look for Library Catalogs, and click on OCLC WorldCat.
