The Schoolcraft College International Institute operates under the belief that citizens of the 21st century need to understand the global forces shaping their lives, be exposed to other a variety of cultures and recognize the interdependence of all peoples and nations.

The Institute dates back to 1994, and is a coalition of interested faculty from multiple disciplines, students, staff and community members working together to deepen the international perspective of Schoolcraft courses and programs.

The group also collects data from surveys of students and faculty to gage if its efforts translate into the classroom. Among the projects its sponsors are the Focus Series; GlobalEYEzers, a current events discussion group; the annual Multicultural Fair; a newsletter; the Global Endorsement on degrees; and the new international cookbook.
