American Harvest Restaurant reopens for winter semester on Jan. 18

 

Schoolcraft College's renowned student-operated American Harvest will again be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner beginning Jan. 18 through the end of the Winter 2013 semester, May 3.

Patrons can savor a delicious gourmet lunch prepared and served by Schoolcraft’s culinary art students Tuesdays - Fridays. The menu, which changes daily, includes freshly baked breads, soup, salad, a choice of entrée, and a selection from the tempting dessert table. All items on the menu are à la carte and guests can choose from one of three seating times: 11:45 am, noon and 12:15 pm. Reservations are recommended. Thursday and Friday evenings feature an extravagant buffet-style dinner focusing on the delicacies from a different region of the world each week. In January, guests will experience American Regional (Jan. 17-18), European: French, German and Italian (Jan. 24-25) and South American/Latin American dishes (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). Seatings begin at 5:30 each evening. Cost for the buffet dinners is $26.95 for adults, children 12 and under $12.95. Wine and premium beer is available. Culinary Art students prepare an elaborate breakfast on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Stroll through the kitchen and make your selections from 8:30 to 9:30 am beginning Jan. 23. The cost is $10 per person, one trip through the kitchen, please. Carry-out is not available. Because the breakfast buffet is prepared by students in class, the schedule is subject to change. Please call (734) 462-4488 to confirm that the buffet will be offered. (There will be no breakfast buffet February 15 and 20-22, March 6-8 and 29, April 3-5 and 25-26.

In addition to the American Harvest Restaurant, patrons can visit the Main Street Café, which also features delicious foods created by culinary students, packaged to go for enjoyment at home. Among the daily specials are freshly baked breads, delectable pastries, homemade soups, pasta dishes, green salads and dressings. The Main Street Café is open Tuesday – Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. January 18 through May 3. Main Street will be closed March 5 – 8. You may reach the Main Street Café at (734) 462-4675.
