Course section waitlisting featured in new videos

The waitlist feature enables students to put their name on a waitlist for course sections that are full. If a seat in that section opens up, the student is notified by email and has an opportunity to register for the course.

The email gives the student a deadline for registering and paying for the class. If the deadline passes without the student registering and paying, that student is blocked from registering for that class, and the next student on the waitlist is notified of the opening.

Students manage their waitlists through their WebAdvisor account. One change, effective with Winter 2013, is that students might get a waitlist notification after the class has started to meet. If this happens, the student needs to obtain the instructor's permission in order to register for the class.

Students who have used waitlisting in the past should watch the waitlist changes video to get more information on this change. Students who have never used waitlisting before should watch the waitlist overview video. It provides a complete review of how the process works and includes information on the change effective for Winter 2013.

Another resource is the waitlisting page on the college's website.
