Schoolcraft celebrates Earth Day on April 22

Schoolcraft College will celebrate Earth Day 2009 on Wednesday, April 22, with a number of activities.

10 a.m.  Welcome and ringing of the Earth Day Bell
 Native American Club presentation
 Presentation of 300 Blue Spring saplings by Louis Braun, owner, Big Rapids Box
 Company, Big Rapids, Michigan. The saplings will be distributed to those in
 attendance for planting.
 The Wanigan, Michigan Forest Association’s educational trailer, will be open until 2 p.m.
11 a.m.  Glen LeRoy, keynote speaker and Dean of Architecture, Lawrence Technological
 University, Southfield, Michigan. LeRoy will speak on “Michigan in an Era of Global Climate Change.”
 Announcement of scholarship winners for “Deforestation and the Impact on the
 Environment” essay contest and Earth Day Competitive Speech contest.
Noon Reception
1 p.m. Student presentations in McDowell Center

All activities will take place in the VisTaTech Center unless otherwise noted.
