2008 Public Safety Career Expo March 11

On Tuesday, March 11, 2008 students and the public can explore the possibility of a career in public safety and examine first-hand law enforcement, fire, rescue and investigative vehicles and equipment at the annual Public Safety Career Expo at the Radcliff Center in Garden City.

Potential employers will be on hand to accept resumes and answer questions about their programs. Those attending include area police, sheriff, fire and rescue units; federal law enforcement units including the DEA, FBI, Customs, Border Patrol and Secret Service; US Army; public safety and security departments from area hospitals and other public facilities; forensics labs; commercial enterprises; Schoolcraft’s training academies; colleges and universities.

In addition, representatives from Dallas and Irving, Texas; Ohio; and Fairfax County, Virginia law enforcement will be attending. A special feature this year includes the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) Clandestine Lab Investigations vehicle.

The Expo will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Job seekers are encouraged to bring 30 or 40 resumes with them to the event.
