College Goal Sunday is a national effort to help incoming college students apply for federal financial aid. On Sunday, Feb. 11 you can visit the VisTaTech Center at Schoolcraft College and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.

The FAFSA is the basic document students must submit to be considered for various federal student loans. At College Goal Sunday, financial aid experts will be on hand to assist students and parents as they fill out the FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA by March 1 maximizes a student’s potential for receiving aid.

Information or documents students should bring to complete the FAFSA include Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses or alien registration cards, 2005 federal tax returns if 2006 returns aren’t complete, and 2006 untaxed income records.
