Wind Ensemble and Choral Union present Sounds of the Season on Nov. 30

Schoolcraft College's Wind Ensemble and Choral Union groups will perform a free concert, Sounds of the Season, on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads.

The 46-member Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Paul Michalsen, and the Choral Union, directed by Jonathan Drake, will perform a variety of selections expressing the uniqueness of the holiday season.

Fields of Gold by G.M. Sumner and arranged by Roger Emerson      
Fanfare and Procession on an old English Carol by Robert W. Smith
Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed
A Vaughan Williams Christmas by Ralph Vaughan Williams and settings by Douglas E. Wagner
Nine Hundred Miles arranged by Philip E. Silvey
Sentimental Journey by Bud Green, Les Brown, Ben Homer and arranged by Hawley Ades 
The Polar Express (Medley) by Glen Ballard, Alan Silvestri and arranged by Paul Lavender
Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson
Festival Sanctus by John Leavitt
Lo How A Rose/The Rose by Craig Hella Johnson
A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson
