The highest rated performers from the Schoolcraft Piano Honors program involving students from students in the first through twelfth grades will perform a free piano and voice recital on Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Presentation Room of the VisTaTech Center.

The goal of  Honors Recitals program of the Schoolcract College Music Department is to encourage excellence in musical performance and to recognize excellent teaching of piano and voice in metropolitan Detroit.

The teachers of the students, from grades 1-12, had to submit an application for participation and the students had to audition before judges. In addition to those selected to perform at the recital, several students will receive cash awards: $50 in the Elementary Piano (grades 1-6) division; $150 in the Junior Piano (grades 7-9) division; $250 in the Senior Piano (grades 10-12) division; and $250 in the Senior Voice (grades 9-12) division.
