Auditions for "Romeo and Juliet" are January 17 & 18

Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, January 17 and 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Theatre for the Schoolcraft College's Theatre Department's production of Romeo and Juliet. No previous theatre experience is required and the auditions are open to all students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

"Petticoat Patriots" is subject of Transition Center Luncheon on January 20

Emily Fijol, assistant director of the Michigan Women's Histrorical Center and Hall of Fame in Lansing, will present Petticoat Patriots: Stories from the Frontline of Michigan's Fight for Women's Suffrage on Friday, January 20, at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 per person and include lunch.

College launches mobile Web site as part of 'Stay Connected' campaign

The latest addition to the college's 'Stay Connected' campaign is SCmobile, a Web site delivering mobile-friendly content to Schoolcraft students. Bookmarking the site puts an icon on the mobile device, enabling the user to quickly access content,  including an events calendar, department directory and a list of individual classes that are cancelled for that day. Other aspects of the 'Stay Connected' campagin include student email and a text/email emergency notifcation system.

Construction continues on the college’s brand new, 11,000 square foot state of the art Fitness Center, which is scheduled to open early in 2012.

Ray Bradbury's classic novel, "Fahrenheit 451," to be discussed in January

The book, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, is the focus of Pageturners book club's January selection. In addition to three discussions of the book on January 23, 24 and 26,  participants will also have the opportunity to see the movie version of this modern classic. on January 26.

Schoolcraft College offers free math workshops in January

The Learning Assistance Center at Schoolcraft College is offering four math preparation/refresher workshops in January 2012. The workshops are free and open to anyone planning on taking a college-level math course at Schoolcraft College or any college or university.
