The opening concert for the 2013-14 season of Schoolcraft College’s popular free Noon Concert Series will feature Romanian pianist Daniel Goiti performing selections from Beethoven, Alexander Scriabin, George Enescu and Franz Liszt. The concert, which will be held Wed., Sept. 25 at noon in the VisTaTech Center, is free and open to the public.
Goiti maintains a flourishing international performance career, generating acclaim and impressing audiences and critics alike with his substantive interpretations and mastery of the piano. One of the most sought after performers in Romania and Eastern Europe, Goiti has appeared as a soloist with prestigious orchestras in the US, England, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece, Japan, and Israel, and is in great demand as a recording artist.
He is the recipient of numerous international prizes and awards, and is currently Professor of Piano and Head of the Piano Department at the prestigious Academy of Music “G. Dima” in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Other upcoming performances in the Noon Concert Series include Mr. B and Bob Seeley on Oct. 16, Claire Aebersold and Ralph Neiweem on Oct. 30, Maria Bessmetlseda on Nov. 20 and a holiday celebration with Paul Keller on Dec. 4.
