Teacher Education Transfer
Future teachers have two options for obtaining the knowledge, skills and credential they need to pursue a career in elementary or secondary education.
The Liberal Arts associate degree can be transferred to a teacher education bachelor’s degree program at a university and offers savings of thousands of dollars in tuition and housing. This degree does not include the “education” designation on the transcript.
The Teacher Education Transfer associate degree includes specialized courses in teaching and learning, that transfer to select universities offering teacher education bachelor’s degree programs. It offers the same cost-saving benefits of the teacher education transfer degree. With this degree the “education” designation is added to the student’s transcript.
There are differences in the coursework required for the teacher education and liberal arts associate degrees. Students should consult with an academic advisor or counselor to determine which option is best for them, and to ensure that their courses will transfer.
